Well I happen to love Home Movies. I recently borrowed the Season 1 DVD from a friend of mine and got to check out some storyboards and commentary and an interview with Brendon Small. Who is now my ultimate crush and I sent him some fanmail.

I think the genious in Home Movies is the simple humour, and the immaculate use of timing. The dialogue comes so naturally that it doesn't seem as contrived as every other show that has ever been on TV. Well, there are a few that have timing that is almost as good, but I think Home Movies is sort of in a league of it's own insofar as how casual and natural the (bizarre) dialogue comes out.

I haven't been as exposed to Dr Katz, but I recall enjoying it when I saw it. Maybe I'll download an episode or two.

What is somewhat sad is that people who just see a few minutes of it, or sometimes even an entire episode, will dismiss it as stupid or not funny. But then they see more of it and then they start to enjoy it. I wonder how many people would be bigger fans if they were just exposed to it more.

I'm in the dark here.

I've never heard of Home Movies.

Therefore they don't exist.

Lock thread please.

Hahaha, 2nd time I've actually laughed here tonight.

I don't watch much Cartoon Network. I don't watch much TV at all for that matter.

But, I have seen and really really like Dr. Katz.

yeah and and mellisa's dad is the voice of dr katz. im not possitive but im pretty sure brendons step mom is the voice of katz's secratary.

and on science court wich i dont remember perfectly im pretty sure the male lawyer's voice was the voice of the coach and ben

watching HM now i love this dialogue:

soccer coach: this is awful, mellissa get in there and replace jean.
mellissa: coach my arm is broken, remember.
soccer coach: sigh* your arm is protected by a cast, its safer than it was before. now get in there.
mellissa: i dont think thats safe
soccer coach: fine fine go to the sub shop and get me a steak and cheese
mellissa: do you have any money
soccer coach: no
mellisa: neither do i
soccer coach: well go your locker and get some

after i get the Aqua Teen seasons on DVD (and possibly Birdman), i should get the Home Movies set. the show has made me laugh, it just sucks that i never watched it till last year.

and colin, were i not a forum member and 20 hours away from you, i would totally fight you to the death over venture brothers.

My friends quote Birdman constantly, but I've barely seen it at all.. Here and there when I actually had the show. I'd love to see more of it
