Doom (Movie)

http://www.doommovie.com/

I think I might have to go see this one, looks kinda good from the trailer at least. Shows use of FPS view, and the BFG.

Looks like it could be sweet, or suck real bad...

Ill go see it anywayz.

testtubebaby 10-08-2005 01:50 AM

looks awfullarious... don't waste your money. download it when it's ripped.

thecreeper 10-10-2005 06:02 PM

i think the first person stuff looks really stupid, in all honesty.

you make a video game movie that is an interpretation of the game, not a replaying of it with live actors.

i think i'm going with the colin creasy method of seeing this.

raublekick 10-10-2005 07:09 PM

the FPS stuff looked cool at first (i like when game movies throw shit like this in for fun), but the trailer makes it look liek the majoriy of the movie is like this. i hope to god it's not.

GT2000 10-10-2005 07:13 PM

You know that with trailers they focus on one or two aspects of the movie, what I'd like to see is the action shots switch in-between the fps view (occasionally) and "third-person" I guess, kinda like an FPS with cut-scenes, however just reverse the frequency that each is used (more "3rd person").

Well, I just got back from seeing Doom, and, I thought it was a good movie. Stayed true to the Doom games...lots of cooridors and monsters poppin out of no where. The issue I was afraid of (the FPS being used TOO much) wasn't an issue, they used it for one sub-5 minute scene. Worth a watch in my opinion..of course, I caught it at a cinema cafe, so I had about 7 beers throughout the 1 1/2 hour movie. :) ::goes to bed::

i'm kind of amazed you didn't blow chunks everywhere. but that's good that it isn't a total crap fest. though i'm planning on seeing thumbsucker tonight and mirrormask next week...

GT2000 10-22-2005 10:33 AM

Yeah..me too I guess, I must've had like a pitcher and a half or something, plus the broccoli bites, and most of my large deluxe nachos..sometimes my stomach is rock solid where other times it..uh, dissapoints me..

thecreeper 10-24-2005 11:14 AM

it not being total trash makes me interested a bit. and the rock pitching it on conan and the daily show made it sound like even though its a video game movie, it's pretty badass. i guess i'll find out (though not in a theater)

GT2000 10-24-2005 01:36 PM

Yeah, I mean, not the greatest movie ever...by far, and it's getting shit for reviews, but, it wasn't completely awful..imo.

wildbilld 11-17-2005 12:57 PM

Ehhhh from what I have read about it soo far I will eventually go and see this one but I am definately not gonna run out and see this one right away. Just don't look like that it is gonna be owrth spending the money on it right away.

Plain Old Jane 02-04-2006 10:39 PM

well break out your baby blankets, this fucking movie was wonderous, it was akin to doom3 in the first hour and a half and then it gets SO fucking funny and doom1 like. See it if you get a chance, its hilarious in the last part, and the ending doesnt leave you wanting more.

testtubebaby 02-13-2006 08:04 AM

it was pretty fucking bad, and the fps sequence was completely laughable.

they turned a game about fucking demons into a movie about genetic engineering and zombies.

*sigh*

the worst, worst, worst part of it was that it wasn't scary in the slightest.
