Started a band with some friends.

As mentioned in another thread, some friends and I have finally gotten off our asses and gotten a band together.

I also posted a really rough demo track in the aforementioned thread, but last night we recorded a much better version, and I just figured I'd share it with you guys. I haven't added any vocals to it yet, so this is just the drums, guitar, and bass. But the quality is exponentially better than the one I've already posted.

The weekend after Christmas we're having an audio engineer record our 3 song demo, and it's gonna sound awesome. We're all pretty amped. I'll definitely post the 3 songs here when they're finished.

Anywho, check this out.

We were supposed to record our demo this weekend, but our sound engineer had to make an emergency trip to Florida to be with his girlfriend.

Anywho, last night we got a really good recording, and this one has vocals. Go ahead and check it out if you want.

And here's a rough take on another song we've got in the process.

well im not a fan of "HRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RAAARRGHHHGHHGGHGH" vocals personally, but it's pretty rad you started a band. post more stuff when you record it.

Man im sure that will sound a lot better when edited. I, am a fan of "HRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RAAARRGHHHGHHGGHGH" vocals and im eagerly awaiting the three finished tracks that you announced on the myspace :)

how far away from the drums do you have the recording source? you should move it as far away from the drums as possible.

Jesse 12-31-2007 05:25 PM

We used 2 mics for that recording. One of them was facing the PA, bass amp, and guitar amp. And the other was just across the room. The bass drum is triggered, so the drums you hear on the track are coming from the PA, as well as my vocals.

We've got a sound engineer that's gonna record our demo. That's gonna sound pretty mean.
