Red face I hate to say it but: I'm fucking sick of living at home

My relationship with my family is great when I'm at school, and even when I first arrive home. Short visits are no different: happily united under our surname and one roof. But when I'm home for weeks on end during breaks, my parents resort to being sniveling, clingy folks and I really don't get my space. There's no place in this home where I can go without feeling the surround sound, or have a room to myself for a few spare hours. I'm grumpy and the clashing of our habits has put me on a "stay up all hours to have time to myself" schedule that only exacerbates our proximity. I love them, but I can't live with them.

Two more weeks. :-/

Heh, I'm quite the opposite... I love living at home. I have everything I need, low rent, and total freedom. My mom and my brother are awesome, and the only drawback is that I always feel guilty that I'm not helping out enough. Like I'm taking advantage of my mom.

But I'm moving out today, so that all ends. New apartment FTW.

i make sure never to visit my mum or dad for more than a week(-ish) at a time, so i don't run into similar problems. we get along really well and all, but they're bound to get on my nerves if i stay with them too long.

i have been living with my mom for the past 4 years. i am not talking "i go to college and live with her on breaks", i mean full fledged commute to school from here.

i don't mind it, but like Subsy said, i feel a bit guilty and lazy at times. what really bothers me is that i can't really live how i want right now. there are certain activities both legal and illegal that i want to do but just can't do here. and then there is simply the matter of everyone going to bet before 11, where i stay up later but i have to be quite.

honestly, if i could just listen to music without headphones late at night, i would be super happy. i can't stand being tethered to the computer.

You should have asked Santa for wireless headphones.
