"Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, sentenced to death for his role in 148 killings in 1982, will have his sentence carried out by Sunday, NBC News reported Thursday. According to a U.S. military officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, Saddam will be hanged before the start of the Eid religious holiday, which begins this Sunday.

man, i'm no saddam fan or anything, but there's a lot of worse people to hang than him.

i would rather see him incarcerated for the rest of his life.

Yeah, there are a lot worse people to hang than him, but I'm not going to say he didn't deserve it, nor do the people living and paying taxes in whichever country that would house him if he were jailed for life deserved to pay for his food and the like.

They really must have wanted him dead by Sunday. I just woke up and saw the news...they just hanged him an hour ago (9pm CST).

best case: right now iraq is like the endor celebration at the end of return of the jedi, and saddam's force spirit returns in a redeemed form.

worst case: it's as if a million voices suddenly cried out at once... or saddam's force spirit returns as his younger, annoying self.

really though, i don't feel any different. i heard two guys talking about at work in a kinda of irritating way (no virgins in hell, etc...). so much disrespect on all sides.
