old script

there used to be a way to mask your URL in the address bar on IE. basically you could make it say any address in the address bar even if the user has surfed away from that site or was never on it. i think it was a java script but possibly php? does anyone know if this still works or of a way to do this?

edit: meant to post in computer too lazy to delete repost, some one move it.
