sister's site

i redid my sisters website again a few months back and was planning on doing more to it and kinda forgot what i thought was so important... i'd like input on anything that seems like it could be improved and how.

honestly, i hate sites that pop up into a window like that, but that's just on first glance.

i'll come up with some more constructive criticism later.

couple more comments, in the pop-up, the textbox is way too small.

it looks fine for the music link (and the different pic is nice), but the rest of the links are in that small box and have the same background pic.

maybe some more uniformity to the structure of it would be nice.

also, the guestbook brings up a pop-up and you can't see the text in firefox. i would recommend either getting rid of it or getting a different guestbook provider.

i'm not a big fan of the popups, but it looks alright. the iframe that the show dates are displayed in seems a bit small.

The main page, when you click into it, I think that you should fix the spot that says "saint amour" in the upper right. I don't think that it blends very well into the background and sort of goes against the grain of the pic. Just fool around with some filters, tools, and possibly changing the layer to either a diffused layer, or something like that.

I like it, I like the text box... I don't like the number of popups (practically for every page)... but ... that's something else.

Looks good.

this is definetly some things ive been meaning to fix and just got lazy about. i needed some one to complain about them so id stop telling myself 'bah no one pays attention anyway'

as far as the text boxes being too small originaly i was gonna have more than one text box open per page but never thought it was that important. so i should probably make them bigger. any ideas on some kinda 'filler' to use in the boxes since there is a very small amount of content that goes into them?

and as far as the pic goes mike, i agree. i wanna work on a flash animation for the splash page. thats why i never worked too hard on making the pic. ive yet to figure out flash mx. if any one could help me in that department or knows of a simple way to do flash animations let me know.

i've been wanting to learn flash too, but the extent i have looked at it has resulted in me opening it, getting confused, and closing it.

i took course in flash last semester (flash mx, that is), and i still remember quite a bit about that stuff if you have any questions about the ide, or actionscript, hex. but if you find a decent tutorial and give it an afternoon, or something, it shouldn't be hard to figure out how to work with motion tweens and guides. that's really all there is to most animations.
