Interesting spike in traffic...

Today our maximum users spiked from 10 ever at once to "Most users ever online was 170, 04-15-2005 at 05:52 AM."

it seems like we were popular today...yet no one new signed up. better luck next time i guess.

No, that was just a bunch of search spiders archiving the threads, I saw it happening that night, and was like, wtf?!

I went in, and theres actually an option for the who's online to display which search engine's spiders are perusing the board, it wasn't activated.

Yeah..because the option was disabled, VB just caught an IP viewing a page and noted them as guest, when I looked at the who's online when it showed 19 or 20, they were all from the same network, most cases the first 3 sets of digits were identical.

Oh yeah, the other day I updated the spider search bot list so it would show them proper when you click on who's online, you may see like 20 guests on the front page, but after clicking into the who's online it'll show them as which search engine, such as right this second google is registering on the site.
