insanely cheap here in korea... $60 installed for the best chip. does all region dvds, all region ps2, all region ps1, and bootlegs for all categories as well.

i'm downloading some games now (dirge of cerberus and black)... what do you suggest i use to burn these things?

ttb: Is there a reliable solderless mod chip (or swap disc) available for the new slim model PS2, specifically SCPH-70012?

looks interesting... i know little to nothing about swap discs, except that i had a friend who had one and it required the front plate of his drive to be yanked off.

also, his ps2 no longer plays cds, but that could be unrelated.

I tried out the swap magic disc and I forget which faceplate...that was a disaster for me, faceplate snapped off the first time I used the slider to try and open it, however when the boot disc is inside the ps2 at the "swap disc" screen it allows me to just press "open" and then press close, it doesn't reset the system.. I haven't had a good burn yet though, is there a trick to that part or what?

One would imagine it to be so, I was using Nero, and kept getting the "insert disc with larger toc" message.

No luck with DVD Decryptor either btw, Swap Magic ftl. Maybe I'll break down and get a chip later on, or look for a cheap/used premodded system on ebay or something.
