Vantec AVOX Jukebox [Overclockers.com Review]
The people over at Overclockers.com did a review on an interesting little device, an external device in which you place a 2.5" hdd, copy over video/audio/photo files, and then allows you to hook it up to a television or other device with a/v jacks to view/hear the files.

I really wouldn't call it expensive in the least, just $120.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16855182001 People spend much more than that on crappy iPods that do less..although have to wait and see how dependable this new toy is.

you would also need to supply a harddrive for it, correct? in any case, $120 seems fairly reasonable for that thingy (if, like you say, it is dependable and actually works.. and what not)

Yep, 2.5" (laptop) hard drive. Yeah, those aren't the cheapest, but I'm guess they decided to use those in order to keep the device to a smaller size. Doubt I'll ever find a use to get one myself, but ya never know, could be handy for a quick way to watch downloaded movies on the big screen without wasting writable media.
