i need to stop making projects for myself that earn me no money and take a lot of time...if i spent as much time on school work as i did on internet projects, i'd be fucking straight A's.
oh well.

So, what exactly does it do/say when you boot without the cd in?

wellhere is what happened:
i decided to install another linux distro on my second hard drive, but it fucked up the the mbr and the boot config so i couldn't get back into windows. so i just reformatted my second harddrive, installed windows, grabbed all my important files from my first drive, reformatted the first drive and installed windows. it was coming up wit a dual boot screen with two XP choices, whcih i guess it should. but then i set the bios to not boot from CD, but now it still brings up this: Booting from ATAPI-CD:..... (first cd drive) Booting from ATAPI-CD:......(second cd drive) ERROR OMFG PLZ INSRT SYSTEM DISK KTHNX so even though the bios is set to NOT boot from cd, it still is, and it won't boot from my hard drive (or else it just can't). so now i'm transfering the files back onto my first harddrive, reformatting the second, not installing windows on it, just backing up the files again, and then reformatting/installing windows on my first drive... i've done about 20 OS installs this weekend between XP, Ubuntu, and Fedora Core 2... |

That's interesting..the fact that it's trying to boot from atapi drives even though it's disabled..
That should only be affected by the bios itself I'd think..if after backing things up to the one hard drive and installing windows on your first hard drive, you still get that, see what clearing the cmos does.

i hear you zach. i checked the weather this morning before venturing outside. it said it was currently 48 with a high of 70-something. it seemed like it was almost 60 at 8:30AM, and now it's brutal. it is nice driving with the windows down though, especially since i don't have 15+ inches of hair flying around anymore.

right now it's 19 degres outside. which is, apparently, 66.2 fahrenheit. it's pretty hot. i'll enjoy it for a week or two.
(if it stays this warm. there's still plenty of time in april, may and june to go through little cold/cool snaps) |

don't ask me, ask the big man upstairs. but considering i was playing a $1500 Telecaster earlier and i bought a $375 ASAT (Tele copy designed by Leo Fender), i don't think i made out too bad. i think mine will sound better anyways.

ever taken a shit so hard, long, and painful that it literally feels like it crippled you as you stagger away from the pot?
my stomach feels like the poo was poking at it and ripped a hole through on the way out, and i got seriously dizzy walking out of the bathroom. goddamn, i need to get away from school food.
