Dude, I know. We've spoken to them over the phone on 4 occassions and received 4 different answers!
1. Can't install cable because we're on a shared power meter (WTF!) 2. Easily install cable, no installation fee, $20 a month, $100 online rebate (w00t!) They'll call back in 24 hours. 2 days later, no call. 3. We're not in system, they need to do a site survey in order for installation. 3 to 4 days (didn't happen). 4. Can do installation, but service is $50 a month and earliest they can come out is in 8 days. Jesus titty-fucking Christ, I wish there was another cable internet service around this area. I would take my business to them in a HEARTBEAT. |

I work for * as an installer/troubleshooter.. we're the same way when it comes to drops running to a house, if the house has been turned into a duplex, then of course it will have 2 power meters, had things been done proper.. and that's the only way we'll allow to separate accounts to be at the same address, as each account will require a separate drop coming from the tap, and each drop needs to be co-bonded to the power meter of that address. As for the other stuff.. just politics, sorry to say.

I'm more upset over the fact that it's obviously complete BS since the apartment is in a law office with 3 other tenants, and they've had cable installed in every floor before now. Hell, the room came with a cable modem! We know the guy on the 4th floor has cable and we know the offices downstairs have it. We already have a modem and 2 cable lines the apartment... all we need is to have them activated.

Yeah, I know.. I run into this stuff a lot.. usually it's just one account with everyone chipping in, like a half-way house at the beach we had to fix a few weeks ago. But every case is different, and yeah, it sounds like a bunch of bullshit that you're dealing with.
I don't know how comcast is when it comes to losing customers to sattelite.. but we don't play around with that shit, so I suggest you call up and request a supervisor right away and then explain the situation, and that if they can't get you going, you'll be calling up Dish or whoever for your tv and getting dsl for your net.. assuming you have a viable dsl option at your address.
