johnny Moderator Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: Upper Canada Posts: 1,276	aha! in the file /boot/grub/menu.lst there is a line: Code: # defoptions=quiet splash remove the word "quiet" (root privileges required to do the edit), and run Code: sudo update-grub (credit goes to the person who responded to my thread on ubuntu forums..)
