Apple to move to Intel?
Well, the hot news as of late is that Apple may very well be switching platforms, over to x86. Some news sources are saying it's already a done deal, but, Steve Jobs has a news conference tomorrow at 10am PST (1pm EST).
What does this mean? Possibly a port of Mac OS # that can be run on your Dell/Compaq/Gateway etc, or maybe they'll go with proprietary hardware, that's up in the air, so is the x86 switch still, until it is confirmed (or denied) tomorrow. Another possible reason for the move is reported to be the new Intel Pentium D with built in DRM, hardware which will prevent the copying of copyrighted materials, this could be an early cue for a iMovies type software (supposedly there's an iVideo player in the works already). http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125...tml?tw=rss.TOP |
