they aren't crucial, but it's wrong to only allow threads that are "beneficial" to the community. if someone makes a thread that's dumb, don't post in it, ignore it, let people bitch at each other in it, whatever.
this is exactly how the TTT has been since i joined, but it's calmed a lot. when i first joined almost every post jep made was responded to with a mention (negatively) about what he(she) is going through. and anytime jep tried to make a defense the mocking got worse. and jep is still here trying to help out. sure people may have been driven away from here, but the one person who i would think would be the first to be tired of the bullshit is still here because this is the fucking internet and it really doesn't matter.
we all want this site to succeed, but this sort of modding to mold the forums to an ideal is wrong to me. very wrong.
