burning for a dvd player
is there any file format i can burn onto a CD-R that would allow me to watch a video on my DVD player?

VCD (Video CD) can do it. i think that's pretty much it. i only tried burning something like that once a few years ago. I did a CKY movie, it worked out ok.

thanks ill check it out. does the file have to be a mpeg to convert to vcd? if so do you know of a good avi to mpeg converter? if not do you know of a good vcd converter that allows the converting of avis

haha, wow. i actually have a program on here from 2001 that allows you to do it, avi2vcd. im pretty sure it worked ok, and heres the site to get it:

You can get them off NewEgg now for like $44. Just get a LiteOn IDE DVDRW. Works fine.
