i found this place called... mobile17.com

seems pretty sweet... free service, and you can use your own mp3s to make tones

if your phone has a web browser you can just point it to any file or directory you want.

wow, the ringer turned out sounding like shit...it was just too low to hear even with my phone's volume maxed out.

i've found that some songs work *really* well and some work *really* poorly... guess it just depends on the song

Yeah, I've only tried one...have you tried different styles of music, maybe it's certain types that work better than others?
