geeky site

im finally making use of my domain/server other than hosting mp3s for my friends myspaces. im making a 'magic the gathering' community or atleast thats the plan. http://www.ergraiders.com/ . "Erg Raiders" is a magic card so no one has to ask. the problem im having is... i cant not figure out how to use phpnuke or other such scripts. lucky for me the server im using can auto install nuke for me. so i can get nuke running just cant figure it out. any one know of a tutorial site or just wants to walk me through it?

for right now i have a non-nuke templae up but i wouldnt mind converting to nuke in a second if i could figure out how to use it. also i suck at installing php stuff. i think im problem is when i go to put in the mysql db. so yeah help please?

ERG RAIDERS!

heX 02-07-2006 09:55 AM

actually maybe ill elaberate just a bit. its not that i want Nuke for any particular reason but rather just a method of giving my friends/associates usernames and pws and them having easy access to make a update with out having to do it in html and use a ftp program.

edit: for that matter ive already set up Iframes that direct to journal sites (right click my center box and go to properties its a dj). so i guess i dont HAVE to have nuke i can keep doing what im doiung. so if you think the site is fine the way it is then let me know.

its not so much "my promlem", i dont want to teach people how to use HTML or how to update my site nor do i trust them not to fuck everything up. so id like to have some simple method of doing it. that way i can set them up with a aritcles page or what not and they can make updates when ever they feel like it... and were all happy and sign songs

edit: we sign them for the def people

nope dont. assuming its a utility like magic online or apprentice?

Marshall 02-08-2006 01:38 PM

It is magic online.

heX 02-08-2006 03:25 PM

ok so this is what i did... hacked the fux out of dead journal and came up with www.ergraiders.com/update

after i make you an account through dj and set you up to the "ergraiders community" it is as simple as going to that update page and typing in your BS and hitting "submit"

then it will format your text, time/date stamp, and add your username to the update on the site.

easy enough? lets hope so
