Check out some of my 3d stuff.
I've been getting into a lot of 3d modeling and animation within the last year, and just the other night I taught myself how to rig up models with bone structures, for complex animations. So I started playing around and ended up with the quick little animation you see below.
Immediately after I finished this one, I was inspired to begin working on a very complex animation. I did a number of different sketches of this during idle time at work and in classes. And tonight I was finally able to sit down and get cracking on it. What I'm gonna make is a 3d ball that rolls into the scene from the horizon. Once the ball stops, it begins transforming and opening up. Once it is fully opened, 4 mechanical arms will fold out from the inside, and on the end of each arm, will be a screen. If it comes out like I'm thinking it will, I might turn the whole thing into my new portfolio website. The entire thing would be Flash animated. It'll look pretty rad if I can get it to what I'm thinking about. Anyway, here's a couple pics of what I got done tonight. I skimped on a few details for now. I'll go back and add all kinds of small stuff once the big stuff is done. ![]() And as it's opened: ![]() Completely opened: ![]() As I said, there's lots more to be done to it. And here is a quick 2-3 second animation test I did. The model used in this brief animation is what I had before I started over. Though animation will be exactly the same, there will be mechanical arms attached to everything, as you see above. |
i can completely picture the whole screen thing, thats gonna be really sweet. good idea

Did some more work on it. Coming along nicely.

Played with my textures and what not. Coming along nicely.
![]() ![]() More details to come. And an animation of the progress: |
wow, dude, i have to say i am really impressed.
post more when you get it. |
Kinda taken a break from the ball for a bit. There's an art show at my school in April, so I'm going to prepare a series of prints using this guy I just finished last night:
![]() I'm gonna make a cute dog for him, and perhaps a wife, and put them in scenes doing human things. |
All you computer guys are becoming so successful. I still just check my email and use word, as I have always done with my computer as the only non computer savvy member of this board. Kudos dude.

Worked some more on it tonight. Adding his kitchen now.
He's gonna be sitting down, reading a newspaper written entirely in binary. ![]() |
I was able to put in a few more hours tonight.
![]() More of the kitchen to come. As well as tweaking a few small things. |
You're still planning on doing a design for the site, right?? Heh, looking cool as hell so far.
|
wow that's some cool stuff. something i'd like to learn to do sometime.
|
Yeah that's all sweet dude.
|
Thanks d00dz.
I'll keep posting updates. If I'm pleased with the end result, I'm gonna sell 40x30 inch prints from my Deviantart account. |

That pool table is why I'm not afraid of robots.
|
seriously. that's not even a pool table. lazy. robots put some billiard balls on a stretcher and called it a day.
|
HEY!
I've been so sick lately. I couldn't even think straight, took me so long to model that simple fucking pool table. It's gonna be a lot better, when I sit down with it again. |
