Geez, who didnt see this coming?
I swear companies are so stuck in the past... ya know back when people had faith that a flick or a game was gonna be half decent so it was OKAY to invest early. Or think it would break even. As it turns out, this is precisely why I (dont) pirate movies. Big studios dont spend any of the money I gave (still give!) them wisely. (This is all fiction, law enforcement official!) |
yeah, the umd movie was a very stupid concept from the start, everyone who has any common sense rips movies to play on it.
|
I'm not altogether for pirating games... dreamcast had a huge ratio of pirated/legal and I love the system. Would I love it if it wasn't such a versatile platform for emulation, VCD, and piracy? Dunno. Honestly I had like 3 legit games before I said F it and just went ISO crazy.
As for sony and big name companies, dont you think they dont deserve the income until they start using their brains? Who just balls-out sends millions of dollars into this field? DVD reigns... (albeit I havent found a DVD under 10 anywhere. The bargain bins have trash that I wouldnt buy 4 for 10. BLEH!) ... and piracy is everywhere. Why buy old movies new on UMD? This isnt the tape-CD, VCR-DVD transition. This is ... Ah, bashing stupidity falls on zero company ears, here. Btw, came here to ramble on about the bill that Bush is urgently trying to push making it OK for more immigrants to get jobs here. What. The. Fuck. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060331/..._canada_mexico "At a news conference Thursday in Washington, a dozen House Republicans blasted the Senate bill. Bush was not immune to their criticism. "I don't think he's concerned about alienating voters, he's not running for re-election," said Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado. "I wish he'd think about the party and of course I also wish he'd think about the country." |
The problem is that the immigrants are already there (what did it say, 6m?), already with jobs, who are exploitable by those who would, who do not fall under any protection for labour rights, wage rights, human rights. Everyone knows they're there but would rather not disrupt this supply of mobile, cheap labour. Come on.. "Give us your tired, hungry, and poor", we'll put them in minimum wage jobs, and we'll build a robust economy because of it. C'mon, that's not bad. It's better than "give us your tired, hungry, and poor" and we'll drop them into an apartheid labour market. Protectionist America is painting black over its own beacon of light... just look at the ports deal.. what bullshit. I couldn't beleive that.

Can you quantify that 3% for me? Cus, uh, that's not what a lot of the country is percieving at the moment. |
i will admit, the emulation possibilities of PSP are pretty nice. i'm just not ready for that kind of commitment.
