i'm kind of amazed at my lack of really good 2 player ps2 games. i think i make up for that with my xbox and gcn 2 player games.

Guitar Hero 1 or 2, probably 2 because of all the extra 2 player modes. But that's getting a bit pricey right there.

Gradius was the shit back in the day.. don't know if I could get her to play any shooters, I have baldurs gate on pc, another doubtful, and my body is too jacked up right now for ddr, hehe. Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming, I'm going to be looking around the bargain bins and stuff whenever I come across any.

Oh. I forgot to mention platformers like Jak and Daxter. Erin and I used to play that game together. We'd take turns playing, and help eachother figure out what to do next. Sometimes that's pretty fun. So maybe look into some platformers?

BG:DA plays like Diablo, not like the ones on PC, just FYI.

Ah, cool...and the fact that it's 2 player..simultaneous or what?

testtubebaby

yea, simultanious, single screen... so kinda like the evil child of diablo and gauntlet.

Word, I'll have to check that one out sometime then... and yeah, platformers would be good.

i heard about this somewhat rare game called the adventures of cookie and cream that's simultanious two player platforming... supposed to be pretty fun, albeit silly.

edit: here's a glowing review... sounds fun. may have to download it to play with my girlfriend: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/adventuresofcookiecream/review.html

katamari damacy and we love katamari. the second has a better 2 player mode but they are a blast to alternate on as well.

if you feel like droppin' some dough, time crisis 2 and 3 with guns is a very fun time.

Lol, yeah, it does look bad...thankfully that was over a period of 15 months and many nights of not fully closing the game.

I've always wanted to play a Katamari game, but I never rented one or anything. I've heard they're tons of fun.

it's really hard to explain, just buy one, they are usually 20 bucks. pretty much appeal to everyone, and chicks really seem to dig them, yet they provide enough challenges for guys too.

basically, you roll a ball around that can pick up items... the items range from things that are very small to very big. at first, you can only pick up small things, but as the size of your ball (and thus, its gravity) grows, you can pick up larger things. it's divided into stages in which you have to roll up a certain amount of things in a certain amount of time, or specific items.

and the premise, at least of the first, is that the king of all cosmos got drunk one night and destroyed all the stars in the universe, and it's up to you as his prince to go to earth and get the raw materials (read: stuff) to make new stars. those wacky japanese...

as the size of your ball (and thus, its gravity)
WRONG!

In order for gravity to be the primary working force pulling objects into the katamari, the katamari would have to have a greater mass density than the Earth. but if this were true, the katamari would not easily roll across the surface of the Earth. mass density is mass / volume. the katamari has a much smaller volume than the Earth, and even most of the things it picks up. so to have a greater gravitational pull it would have to have a much greater mass than the Earth. Suppose the katamari has a volume that is 1 millionth of the Earth's volume. It's mass would then have to be 1 million + 1 times greater than the Earth in order for it to have a greater mass density. This would make it like a very small star, and it would probably just fall right through the Earth.

as it picks things up, its mass density would actually decrease. once the katamari has doubled in size, the volume has doubled but the total mass hasn't. thus the gravitational force decreases. once the katamari is some 800m, the volume has increased much more than the density. if the original katamari did have a greater mass density than the Earth, this probably would not matter. but if it didn't then it would have a great effect on its ability to pick up objects.

in my estimation, the driving force of the katamari cannot be gravity, but some other force must exist. i leave it to magic, or drugs.

lol, you must be bored... but there's no real other explanation (other than your magic force theory) in whick one opject would stick to the katamari and not the other. interestingly enough, though, the only factor seems to be the *size* (i.e. volume) of the object, and not the density (i.e. mass/weight) of said object, when it comes to picking it up... which, once again, must lead us to a conclusion of some very strange force of attraction.

if your ps2 is modded... the european release of ICO. in the american release, you could only play as Ico, but in the japanese and euro releases, the second controller could control yorda, making it an interesting two player adventure.

Thanks for those details on the katamari games, I'll check into those as well..and no, my ps2 is not modded..I failed miserably putting in that damn modded door so now my ps2 is working, but could break with little force..heh.

yeah my real conclusion is that it is a videogame... about a little guy... who rolls around a ball that things stick to... and a giant king who got drunk and smashed all the stars...

i'd say they can have that katamari do whatever the hell they want it to do.

Wow, this is old...but I just played a game the other night that I couldn't put down. My buddy borrowed Marvel: Ultimate Alliance from his friend and we played for about 10 hours straight. We were high, so I may be way off here...but it was wicked fun co-op action. You pick a super hero team and you beat on bad guy ass...really cool.

Again, I was high...it's probably really lame. lol.
