And I'm of course going to enter it. I think I might have a good chance, since I'm kinda "in" with the band. The bassist and I have e-mailed back and forth a few times. He's even sent me some t-shirts and posters in the mail. And the singer and I talk on MSN quite frequently. Not to mention I'm the leader of their official street team.
So anyway, as soon as I found out about the contest, I opened Photoshop and went to town. Came up with a couple cover designs and showed them to the singer, and he said he was kinda looking for a new take on their 3d iron dragon (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i135/Amsterdamn666/Berzerker-Dissimulate.jpg. At this point I figured I was fucked, since I haven't done any 3d modelling in a long time, but, I've been working at it for many hours over the last 4 days or so.
At any rate, I won't post pics, because they're pretty big, instead I'll just link to the directory where I'm storing them.

The previewxx.jpg images are the dragon I've been modelling in Cinema 4D. The more and more I work on the dragon, the better I think my chances become of actually getting my art picked. The art isn't just for the front of the CD case, it's for the ENTIRE album. CD, booklet, everything.

Ive been listening to them ever since I visited your myspace a while ago. It would be pretty awesome to get to do the cover art for them.
I have nothing of importance to say other than good luck! I like what you have so far.

Hah, wow, looking at my last post, I realized how much I've changed the dragon for the better.

Oh yea, Marshall, it's pretty sweet that you're into them. People that like them are few and far between.

fantastic, but the machine-gun arms don't look as mean as machine-gun arms should.

Should they be bigger? More detail? Better texture?

Toying around with some different backgrounds. I also took the guns off. I thought they were badass, but, I was gonna try some renders without em.
Not completely done yet, just giving everybody an update. You'll probably see a lot more changes as time goes on.

Update!

thanks for your hard work jesse. i submitted that last one as my entry i hope i win!
i think your doing awesome and i know im not able to do that. i liek the last pic the most your doing good. i would suggest either downing the brightness or uping the contrast on the spinal cord deal. probably downing brightness would give you the desired result. it just seems to be kindve cloudy white.

Figured out why I was getting that smokey look on the body, and fixed it.

Little bit of a smaller render because I'm at home on my mom's computer. I didn't wanna wait for the bigger ones to render.
I was just joking before. heres the one im submitting. i can see we went in similar directions but, well, mines quite a bit better than yours really, but maybe ill give you some ideas.

then heres my second attempt

i feel i may have lost something in this second attempt. i added a new element to help keep it real. something still not right i just can't put my finger on it. ill keep you all updated.
its startign to go in the direction that i had dreamt up all those weeks ago.
what do you guys think? i think the berzerker will respect that i kept it real.

i dunno jesse, yours isnt appealing to the minority voters like hex's totally original one.
and i see there is no green wire. gee i wonder where you came up with that idea
Man, Hex...wow. I've worked hard to keep it real all these years...but that's really something. Almost TOO real (as IF).
Hey Jesse...keep it up man. You'll work it out ;)
