For DVD copying, I use DVD X Copy Platinum.

dvd decrypter + dvd shrink + nero

i was able to just make an iso using shrink then burn it with nero, whats dvd encrypter for?

is downloading and using those 8 programs truely the only way to convert an avi to dvd? seems like there would be a simpler way of doing it.

decryptor does the first thing shrink does..when you have nero installed, like i said, dvdshrink will do it all in one step...decode, compress, burn.

Oh..and i'm sure there is an easier way of doing it, I've just never had the need to convert an avi to dvd format..if i get the time i'll look into it a bit more unless someone else already has the answer.

I use a program called VSO DivxToDVD for AVI to DVD conversions. It will do both Divx/Xvid and many other video types with good audio/video preservation. Easy to use, as well.

interesting... does it convert 16:9 video anamorphically?

and do you happen to know where it can be obtained uncrippled?
