I was thinking about what to get my naughty child, and I was thinking it might be a good idea to kind of update our profiles on eachother, so that we might have a better idea of what to give eachother. Really, I've known you all for many years... and so I assume I know the simpleton I knew those years ago. In reality, I don't know much of any of you anymore.
So not only people participating in the secret santa exchange... but we should all post a blurb about ourselves and our interests. I guess I'll go first.

The name is Neil. I'm in first year university, future prospects undecided. I have tons of inteterests, and this is mirrored in the fact that I still haven't decided what I want to go to school for. I might major in psychology (most likely candidate), but there's also philosophy, religious studies, and anthropology. My intellectual affiliation is Ken Wilber's Integral movement. My musical tastes are pretty diverse, and I like to hear what people (with developed musical tastes) think is 'really good'. I love movies, and am working up a small DVD collection. I'm not much of a gamer anymore, I play UT now and then to kill time, my PC doesn't run UT2004 that well.
Umm... I guess that's all you really need to know without getting personal.

my name is johnny; i'll be graduating from a computer programming and analysis college course in the spring. even though i, more or less, hate computers and the internet now, i'm still interested by programming, so i'll be looking to get a real job (in my field) starting this summer.

but really, my biggest interest is music. i listen to music all the time, and i can play a few instruments almost well: the guitar, bass guitar, and mandolin. also, as of pretty recently, i am a member of a band. we are pretty great. 8)

other interests include: hockey , consumption of alcoholic beverages, and hanging out with friends and/or family.

Hey Johnny, you been playing with The Visit? Rock on!

johnny
12-14-2004, 07:59 PM
yea. how'd you hear?

Mr Biglesworth
12-14-2004, 08:01 PM
Who else would you be playing with? GWAR?

raublekick
12-14-2004, 08:31 PM
i'm andrew, raub himself if you're nasty.

i play guitar, looking into starting a tongue-in-cheek band with a few people. i play videogames, but not so much this semester. i co-run good-evil with creeper. i love music more than almost anything.

i'm a loner, TTTers, a rebel.

johnny
12-14-2004, 09:03 PM
i'm pretty much a loner by nature, too. it's not that i don't enjoy being around my friends and family, because i do. it's just that i tend to be just as content when i'm by myself. ::shrug::

raublekick
12-14-2004, 11:40 PM
i'm actually not a loner, it just sounded like a cool thing to say. i'd much rather be with friends 90% of the time. Sadly, during fall/spring semesters, this doesn't happen.

Mr Biglesworth
12-14-2004, 11:59 PM
I spend about 90% of my time hugging my girlfriend. That's all! Just hugging!

I've always been able to do the loner bit, and not very good at doing the social bit. So it's good for me to learn how to live life with other people. It's a totally different experience, and they each have their pros and cons. Balance, I say.

johnny
12-15-2004, 01:01 AM
Balance, I say.
"who wants to live with a bunch of loser faggots!?!," i say.

I'm Jesse, I'm 19. Digital Media Production major. As of late, I've enjoyed doing a lot of video editing and stuff. As well as filming and all that jazz.

Like everybody here, I like music a lot.

I play guitar. Not really sure what else to say.

I think I figured out what to get my person. Hopefully he/she will like it. It's only going to cost me a few bucks, but it's something that can be enjoyed endlessly.

Mr Biglesworth

Jesse that is without a doubt one of the less disturbing things i've seen all day.

Mr Biglesworth
12-15-2004, 01:38 PM
Like, seriously? Why would you just post that? It's not like it affects me at all...

I've changed a lot since the olden days of this site.

My name is Mike, I'm 20, Political Science major (Double minor in History and Theology, concentration in Philosophy) at Assumption College (Assumption.edu), in my junior year. I work at a Real Estate law firm in Worcester, Massachusetts, and in the IT department at my school.

Like post, I play some sort of musical instrument... I play the piano, harmonica, and handdrums, while mildly playing guitar. I'm a republican and enjoy debating various things... Philosophy, theology, politics, other. I play basketball and in my spare time, develope for Half-Life 2.

I guess the biggest change that's taken place in my life is, three years ago, after some years of 'research' I became a deist, and specifically, a non-denominational Christian. It's probably changed my life, ideologically, more so than anything else.

I've been dating my girlfriend for about 20 months or so... and it's cool.
Mike

Do you consider yourself to have better reasons for being a Republican than most Republicans?

Or, phrased a little more bluntly, do you consider yourself smarter than most people who are Republican?

Hello, I'm Zach Patterson. I am at school in northeastern PA, and I am a junior with a major in comp sci.

i'm big into music, mainly hard rock, metal, 90's, industrial and video game stuff. i play lots of games, but recently have been limited to older classics due tio money constraints. Speaking of money, I am ridiculously poor, so expect my secret santa to reflect that. I used to be a huge comic collector, but again money has confined me to only buying a few here and there. i'm on computers way too much.

i love me some good-evil.net, which i update every thursday with something (usually). i design sites in my spare time for bands and others (temp sound solutions, jenova project, etc). i'm a democrat. I've been with my girlfriend for 2.5 years now. i dont exercise enough. i like twizzlers waaaaaay too much. andrew raub is my pal. not a lot has changed for me while in college.

im northern cross, I like software, piracy, and all things hacky/dark. I like books, learning, and helping people. I'm interested in martial arts, so anyone whos getting me a present, whomever they may be.. ::rolls eyes:: I'd prolly appreciate books about that, or a knife or something... or a book with a knife on it!

i'm sam, 13. 8th grade. currently attending a democratic k12 private school. i love it, for real.

like all the rest of you i'm into music a lot, and the whole production process gets me excited. I'd really enjoy being a studio engineer or working at a record label, something like that, some day. I'm in a band, which spans a few styles. We just like to have fun, most of our songs are of a jokey subject matter. We'd be nothing without my friend Zak, an AWESOME guitarist. In the band I either play drums (semi-decently) or sing backup, and I started taking guitar lessons around april. got my first electric a few weeks ago, love it.

I also kind of have a thing for archiving things, I think I might like to have a job where I'd get to do that sometime.

i still have a website kicking around, some of you might remember the address, though it's nothing like the olden days and any of the visitors are IRL friends, so i'm not gonna put said address here.

ps, i love beck.

I dont have a job and rely on magic for money right now. I play magic the gathering very regularly and hope to quality for the next Pro-tour. I travel sometimes for magic too. Anyone got a place for me in Boston in the beginning of february?

Do you consider yourself to have better reasons for being a Republican than most Republicans?

I consider myself a Republican because I'm fiscally conservative, believe in small federal government, big corporation, less spending, less taxation. I also tend to follow the Anti-Federalists above the Federalists, with less emphasis placed on the executive branch. I also slightly lean towards Libertarianism, as I believe moreso in autonomous states, with states rights, than an overbearing federal gov't.

Most Republicans that I know of, those who are my friends and those who I work with, or hear about, usually have pretty good reasons for being Republicans. I don't know many Republicans who don't know why they're Republicans, where as, conversely, you see that a lot with many young-Democrats... though, that could be because I'm from Massachusetts, the most Democratic/Liberal state in the US... and a lot of them are fucking morons... so who knows?

Or, phrased a little more bluntly, do you consider yourself smarter than most people who are Republican?

I consider myself the smartest man in the world. So, yeah... that covers most of the bases.
