Donnie and I have been talking about this for awhile, and we've both agreed it's time for a bit of a change. Starting soon, we hope to have 2 new large additions to TTT.
1. TTT Original Music Competition - This idea has been brewing for months, but it looks to finally be a reality. This will be hosted here, and the rules are that anyone can enter, but the song must be more than 2 minutes long and some element of the song must be performed live on an instrument. More details will be coming soon, as soon as the website for it is ready and a final few rules are ironed out. The competition will be announced formally soon, and the songs will be due in approximately 6-8 weeks, shooting for an early november release. there will be a judging as well, but those details again will be revealed with the website.
2. TTT Presents VGLIVE - VGLIVE is a project that Donnie has agreed to host here at thetesttube that is the realization of a site called rock-out.net, a site that was designed to be dedicated to artists that covered video game music with real instruments (instead of just tracking them, for example). when rock-out fell apart last year and the domain was lost (it's now a porn site), a large directory of artists was lost. TheTestTube will now have that directory here, and while new threads need to be approved in that forum, anyone can post replies about artists. each new thread will be dedicated to a particular artist, and there will be a main page directory classifying the artists and what they happen to play.
i will have more information soon, but I thought it was about time to let everyone know what's going on. With any luck, we will be seeing new faces and hopefully a new direction for TTT.
EDIT: The Music Competition site is nearly ready. http://music.thetesttube.com
EDIT2: VGLive 1.0 is a bit rough, but up nonetheless. http://vglive.thetesttube.com/
