the guy behind something awful recently went to a college and talked about how to run a successful site and, more specifically, how to run a successful forum community.

it's funny and informative and everyone should watch it:

Hmm, should definitely be an interesting watch..but, an hour and a half..is it really worth that much time Colin?

"...and most sites have to beg their readers to click just to pay the server bill", well said...

So yeah..basically so far he's just bashing on the other forums in a top 10 list..and going over his previous experiences for failed dot coms.

Damn, I see so much of TTT in his talking...

E) TTT = death.

I also forgot...

F) Stagnation = TTT.

it's fully worth the hour and a half of time it takes to watch it. i love SA and their humor, especially lowtax's shit... and since he hasn't been writing anything on the front page lately, this is the best i'm getting.

I actually kinda watched most of it, half-assed paying attention I guess you could say, some insightful stuff...most of which I've already discovered as...well, I've run TTT for 5 years, and it's been a miserable failure..heh, stagnation for one, running the site for the members.. (hey, did I ever close it? no...), crappy ads...never had those, google ads are far from it, never did pop-ups...

The funniest part in there was when they started talking about veterans vs. newbies...that had TTT written all over it...you know who you are.
