I think its a tragedy when anyone dies..

"Even satan, jep?"

Yes, even satan.

...

But to be fair, it says they played pantera style stuff... And I feel like shooting someone whenever I hear that. Oh' course I'd do nothing of the kind in real life, the only I shoot is arrows, and the only thing I shoot AT is an archery target, and the only thing I crave right now is a nice juice head of bok choy, and the only thing people want right now if for me to shut up, so I'll oblige.

Like Satan said moments before he was struck with an arrow, quote:
"He does care! ::sniffle::"
endquote

(wow, thats a good way to end a post with humor eh?)

I've never been a huge Pantera fan, but it's sad when a musician who doesn't spend a career making music about getting shot actually gets shot.

Definitely sad news. I wasn't a big Pantera fan, but, Dimebag was a hell of a guitarist. I wonder what this will mean for future concert security?

Oh, and, it's kind of ironic. I remember when ODB collapsed dead in the studio last month, and it was all over MTV every hour for like 2 days. Dimebag Darrel dies, and they only have something on their website.

Yeah, I found out about it shortly after it happened, so I started perusing websites looking for more info but the reports were too conflicting, got the rest of the story now though, fucked up.

My cellphone ringer tone has been Cemetary Gates for the last while, shall remain, even though Anselmo is a fag.

dont be an ass.

dimebag was a hell of a guitarist. i personally like a lot of pantera (though most of my collection is burns from my brother's stuff) and he was a big contributor to the last few anthrax albums. not to mention, to be shot 6 or 7 times by some coward while performing is a fucking tragedy. he'll be missed.

i believe i am going to buy 'Walk' for my cell phone tonight. It would only be right.

i'm not the one treating a tragedy like its a blessing.

i dont know what your deal is, but can't you see that was a pretty mean statement to make?

what's with the hate?

So he was just shot on stage? That's crazy. Anyone know why the gunman did it?

rumor has it that he was pissed that pantera broke up

thecreeper

that may be the worst reason ever for killing a band member of that band.

"I'm pissed that your band broke up, so I'm going to shoot you to ensure there will never be a reunion."

edit: and from an MTV article...

He said he then made his way to the stage where a crowd had gathered around the wounded Darrell. "I tried to push them away, but people loved him too much. The people were kissing his hands and his feet and trying to give him CPR"

man, that makes me seriously feel awful.

I herd about it on my local rock station WMMS. They played Pantera for an hour straight as a tribute.

Well to counter the 'no coverage' complaint, while I don't watch TV, Google news is showing 1,844 news articles about his death. That's pretty 'up there'.

Speaking of dead musicians, I've recently gotten really into Johnny Cash. Of course we've all loved 'Hurt', but he's got alot of other great stuff too. 'I hung my head' is just chilling.

I've been getting into some blue grass lately.

heh, kind of like donnie..

i went to a battle of the bands last night and one of the guys there, before his band was about to finish, played about a minute of cemetary gates.
