Well, the trip down to Florida was great, spent a day driving around Tampa, wanted to find a beach, but, ran out of time, had to get back to Orlando for a dinner show. Next day we went to Disney, awesome as well. Spent a day with my aunt and cousin in Orlando, went to see a movie with them, but, the movie was too crude for her, the 40 year old virgin, lmao (me and my girl were rollin', we gotta see it sometime...)
Well, that (Saturday) night, I decided it was the right time, I got down on one knee and popped the question.
After she got a little teary-eyed, and we kissed, she said yes. :D
She's flying back home friday night, I'll be going up there to see her off from JFK, and we'll probably have at least a year apart, she's waiting to tell her parents in person next week, we told my parents yesterday morning, they're excited and fully supportive, which is awesome.
We both know we have a long road ahead of us, but, we know what we want, and where we want to be.
(I've never been so nervous in my life as I was Saturday night).
Here's a picture of the two of us, my mom took it before we hit the road yesterday so I could take her back up to Richmond, plus a picture of the ring, the glare sucks but you can still make it out. Went with emerald because it's her birthstone, goes with her eyes, and when I saw the ring I just knew it was the one I was looking for.

Yeah, it will...but, we both agree that if we were meant to be together, which is exactly how we feel, the time apart will "make the heart grow fonder" as my dad has said, and a friend said as well.
As I've mentioned before, maybe you haven't caught any of the other mentions, she's from Russia, she's got a year of university left, so again, we've got a lot of time ahead of us to figure/plan everything out, we've been dating 2 months, since she got here basically, and we've known each other for a little over 6, I really wanted to make it a point to her that, I'm serious about wanting to be with her and everything. You don't find someone that you're like, 99.999999% compatible with everyday, and I leave that .0000001% in there because, you can't agree on everything. ;)
*edit*
Yeah, the pic was with the flash so it blurred, without the flash, it came out dark and still blurred, sorry bout that.
Btw, I told her the link to the site, dunno if she'll check it out before we leave for NY tomorrow night, but, seeing if maybe she'll register and post here and there, she's already been warned about some of fucked up stuff here, but, ya'll would just have to know her better to understand one of the very many things I love about her.
Awesome man, I'm nothing but happy for ya.

Long distance stuff can be killers, but you and her seem to be very mature, so I will dispense with the advice giving as by this point, I've taught you all I can... ::wink::

My ex girlfriend and I were apart for a little under a year and we made it threw just fine. We kept in constant communication. I actually grew fonder of her. Because with the distance between us all we could do is talk, which led us to mature as a couple much faster then usual. We got to know each other very well and I think we did the most growing as a couple when she was away. But that doesnt help the fact that your going to miss her like crazy mad.

i'm in a long-distance now. he's in baltimore i'm in NJ, but neither of us can make the trip more than once a month currently. (*mumble* fucking gas prices *mumble mumble*)
i agree though, constant communication is key, and i swear to god, the less you see them, the more attractive your SO becomes every time you see them. cause then you're all "man you're a sight for sore eyes... *sigh*.. you're preeety"
anywhoo.
way to go! majorly cool. congratulations.

Haha, thanks again guys, yes, the taproot shirt...got from the show taproot played at, oh yeah...
Yes, whenever the wedding happens, I'd like to see any of you there.
I JUST got home btw, we took bus from Richmond, Va to Port Authority in New York at 2:15am Thursday night/Friday morning, spent the day in the city, walked Central Park, and chilled in Queens. Got to the airport around 6pm, and we (myself and Anya's friend's boyfriend) stayed with the girls as long as we could, until they went through the checkpoint at about 10 til 8. It was so hard to let go, after they gave their ticket and got to the walk-through to the inspection we clung back on to each other. Me and Joe stood there watching them drop their carry on, etc, finally had to turn around, was killin me...
The night we left town by bus, Anya had given me a gift bag, and told me not to open it until after I got back to town (this morning), I obliged, let her take it out to my car and stick it in there. After I dropped Joe off at his place I stopped around the corner and opened it up, a card, a little book called "A Pocketful of Love", and, a language course "Conversational Russian in 7 Days". I read the card, and, was thinking about it on the way home, and maybe it was also the fact that I then realized it was my final drive home from Richmond for a while, I actually had to hold back the tears, something I haven't experienced in a long time.
So yeah, we're looking at 1 year minimum, maybe even 2, we don't know, I'm going to do my best to get out there sometime within' the next year however, if I can work that out with everything, so, whenever the big-day is, I'll give as much notice as possible, it would be an awesome way to meet eh?

If I can come, I will...
Just 20 minutes ago a friend of mine, Lisa, stopped by to say goodbye. In two days she's leaving to Moscow for a year (where does Anya live, donnie?) to learn the language. This summer she spent a month there at the Moscow theatre school, where she fell in love with Russia, and with a boy she met at a cafe, Artem. It was tough for them to go at the end of the month, but they promised they would find away. Lisa was due to go into her second year at university here, but within the span of this month, she found a language school in Russia, made living arrangements with Artem, and got a student visa to russia. So she's on her way to Toronto now and then she's off to the fatherland. Crazy kids...

Yeah, I remember you telling me about her story, that's awesome. She lives on the complete other side of the country unfortunately...lol. Flying to Moscow for her, is like, flying to Hawaii for me.

Other side of Russia, eh? Hows about you come up to Canada, me and you will get some hiking gear, and we'll cross the Bering strait. Last I heard there was still a land bridge...

She just called me half an hour ago, I was driving home from a night at the bar, and she didn't think it was me, I feel bad for drinking now :(
It was sooooo good to hear her voice though, because she was unable to call me from Paris, and too tired to call me once she got to Moscow lastnight I was getting worried. This is going to be rough but, nothing good in life comes easy eh?

It's all good, we've got a lot of time ahead of ourselves, the next year is small compared to it.
