i got clipped by a trans-bridge bus. the drivers side headlight, and most of the front bumper are completely detached.

weirdest feeling ever. i don't even remember being hit, i just kinda pulled over, turned the car off, got out and said "holy shit"

and get this... i got a ticket. and so did my mom (since i only have a permit) for "failure to stop/yield" now here's the kicker. he hit me. gotta love no-fault policies in new jersey. $170 in fees if i don't fight it, and who knows what if i do. annoyance to the max

oh, and yeah, i'm fine... just really shaken up.

i'll post the pics as soon as they're developed.

that is majorly lame. i remember when i wrecked my car on the PA turnpike, i was so shaken up. it's a scary feeling, it didnt even sink in how close i was to killing myself (it was on ice).

the ticket is bullshit though, hopefully you can get out of that.

and yet another reason why jersey sucks.

damn that blows, glad you're ok!

in similar, yet less extreme news, i got a parking ticket today because the meter fucked up. put in my two quarters (5 hours each) at 8am, come back at 5. there's a ticket on my windsheild, the time expired thing is popped on the meter, and it still said i had an hour left. for fucks sake, the meter-maid could have noticed that so easily, but they probably noticed the red flag from a block away and wrote the ticket on the way to my car. </rant>

Well, were you supposed to yield? I mean, I got hit once...but it was my fault for being in the way. Just because he hit you doesn't make it his fault.

well, i was already merged onto the highway, he cut me off, and clipped me it was like a second after i had merged. he didn't have his blinker on either, so it's not like i saw him getting ready to change lanes and was like, "hell, why not go anyway!" i was already in the lane. it's not like i merged into the bus.

Was it a metro bus? If I'm driving anywhere near those things I'm afraid those big fuckers are going to hit me, like if I'm stopped in the left lane and they're turning into the lane next to me that goes in the oppisite direction. And from what I know riding the metro bus to school, even though they require some better liscence, they aren't the best drivers. But I've never seen one on a highway.

I've never been in a accident. Almost a few times, but never a collision.

But glad your alright. Accidents are always scary as shit.

phew, glad you're alright. I think I could potentially develop alot of fears about unpredictable stuff like that, even though i've never really been a fearful person. Don't develop agorophobia. or do. then we can hang out. just don't touch me. or breath.

i've never been in an accident 'cause i'm a good driver eh. but one time when i was a kid and my mum was driving my dad's truck we got rear-ended.. so maybe i'm a bad passenger?

and what are you going on about now, neil? afraid of the dark or something?

haha, my friends always joke i'm agorophobic since i never go out. i think now, i will actually be, cause i'm kinda afraid of driving at the moment, having kinda an unlucky streak (not that i have a car to drive, both of the ones i'm legally allowed to drive are in the shop, no i didn't crash the other one, it just randomly overheated and started smoking, and almost caught on fire...)

and no, it wasn't a metrobus it was a trans-bridge bus. they're commuter busses.. i think they only go NJ-NY and back.. but i'm not sure.

Glad your okay. I was in an accident not so long ago. I was on the back of a pickup and a car hit us head on. The guy next to me went flying out into the ditch and died. The driver or the other car died and I went flying out the pickup and landed on the road, luckly I only broke my arm and had a few cuts and bruises but I thought I was dead. It was horrible seeing the dead guy in the ditch when I was laid on the road. Worst thing that happened to me.

AHHH!!! MY EYES!!!

Sorry, but ever since the first time I saw that car, it's been hard not to look at one and not say "That's the ugliest car evar!".

Sucks about the damage though, gotta love the cheap plastic of today which costs an arm and a leg to re-mold.

i probably posted this before, but i feel for you. mine looked equally trashed. and this was after fixing it the best i could.

Yeah..I remember that. I know a few people who do car work luckily, so if I ever (god forbid) happen to take on some cosmetic damage, should be able to fix most of it good enough for driving around without paying much.

oh no. not just cosmetic damage. the headlight/ wiring related to it need to be re-done, cause it's all fucked up. it shorted out or something, besides being all smashed in. quite a bit of rewiring has to be done.

and it's cool about hating the aztek, it's my mom's not mine. but, in defense of it.. it's really comfy inside, and it rides great, besides the fact that we do actually use it for camping/other stuff it was made to do. and the back is great for seeing out the back in rain. it stays remarkably clear.

That's cool, whatever works for ya and gets the job done. Glad ya made it out ok btw. As for the tickets though, cheaper to pay them and move on.

well, actually no. because i have a permit, my mom and i both got the tickets. i'd have to plead guilty so she gets the fine and points dropped off hers... so if we have to go anyway we might as well fight them.

Aha..gotcha. Yep, gotta love how that works out. Well, good luck with it all, I've got a couple things brewing in court myself.

I'd suggest fighting, new jersey laws are often easily overturned when it comes to these things. my mom got a ticket for 3 points and 160 bucks, she faught it and got no points but paid a 400 dollar fine.

bleh. i took 12 seconds to make that. typos happen so all of you can go die.

(and yeah, i noticed that pretty shortly after i made it. just never felt like making a new one/figuring out how to fix it)
