Got home from work and played it for a bit, so far, good stuff, and, graphics are sweet, and runs silky smooth on my system at max details minus AA and AF, @1280*1024.

although they did a good job of putting the story in the gameplay instead of in cinematics, I would've appreciated a more cohesive ending for the amount of money, waiting time, and playing time I've done...

***** POSSIBLE SPOILER *****

although they did a good job of putting the story in the gameplay instead of in cinematics, I would've appreciated a more cohesive ending for the amount of money, waiting time, and playing time I've done...

That's the essence of Half-Life though. A lot of people were pissed about the ending, but that's part of what makes Half-Life 2 the sequel to Half-Life 1... the ending of Half-Life 1 was even more unfullfilling. I knew that it would be the way that it was, where they don't give you any information. Like HL1, expansion packs are in the works (like Opposing Force, Blue Shift) that will give a few more details about the story ... I had heard about playing with Alyx, but I am unsure of that. A very intruiging character is the British Corporal who shows you how to use the rocket launcher ... He's often overlooked, but his importance in a game is great ... as long as you look in the right places :)

The expansions will be fantastic and the story will continue to play out piece by piece ... maybe we'll finally figure it out by 2009, when HL3 comes out.

*sigh*

i'm still a bit pissed after a year that Full Throttle 2: Hell on Wheels (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/fullthrottle2/preview_6028093.html) was canceled.

"In a very brief statement, LucasArts has announced that it has stopped production on Full Throttle: Hell on Wheels. "We do not want to disappoint the many fans of Full Throttle, and hope everyone can understand how committed we are to delivering the best-quality gaming experience that we possibly can," said Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts.

I havn't played many games in a while.

I just played a little more single player..I barely got into it when I first started, I play a little deathmatch here and there when I can.

I'm like, at the airboat part, maybe another year from now I'll have it finished..

i played a little past the water boat part. the graphics were really sweet and the story seemed interesting...but i know i had just barely scratched the surface, and some things were already starting to bother me about it.

but i was just playing at a friend's house, so no harm to my wallet on this one.

pretty fun stuff, though chances of me playing it on my current computer are pretty slim.

someone needs to drop a new computer in my lap. seriously.

You missed out on that system I had, old college bud of mine bought it earlier in the week.

But then again, I wasn't budging from my $400 price-tag.

The game is good, and runs good on average systems, haven't played it much, because I have a horrible habbit of dropping a game right after playing it and then never going back to it.
