well theres also the recognition of the wrong doing, and the fact that (hopefully) you are not smoking pot.

if your neighbor smokes pot and you see it once, you could just close your blinds and completely forget that you saw it, or what is (small chance) that the gentleman is a major player in the trade, you could end up dead if you report him so how could you get in trouble for being afraid to get killed.

I sort of see a parrelel in this kiddio porn thing. if its a pop up or something your friend wonko sent you, then you just close it forget you ever saw it and if you're paranoid, get a disc true deleter (one that rewrite all the zeros and ones back to zero or random, in some cases up to 32 times where unless the NSA wanted to know what was on your HDD, they cant really get you.)

If you save if to your hard drive or smoke up with your neighbor, than you are accountable. In major crimes I can see the use of it, but in minor ones it just hurts the innocent and afraid. Smoking weed should not be a crime IMO.

Yeah, there's always the case of hitting "links that were misadvertised as something"(1) and you end up viewing something else, so it's hard to sit here and determine how they should go about doing it.

(1) Kinda like the bunch of utter bullshit Jep has wanted posted on the site that never got posted, he should have his computer seized and searched.

i see it as, as long as i don't see or hear about it from someone ever, i don't care (or want to know, some people are really fucked up and can hide it well). as soon as the guy is like, "oh yeah i watch 12 years all the time" then the alarms go off in my head and i never go back to that person's house. but i dont think i should have to report them. i'm a lazy guy and i don't want to be held by the cops all day to answer questions and stuff.

but yeah, it's hard to tell who was looking and who got sent a bad link (in reality you could make a virus that sends you to kiddie porn sites and then reports you to your ISP or something like that) and who is a sick fuck. it would be really hard to implement.

if they find your entire cache filled with illegal child porn, i think that's reason to suspect that you did more than open a misadvertised link. but i think they should focus more on the sources and less on the users, because without the sources there can't be users. of course, they'll never eliminate it all, but just busting people who look at it doesn't stop it.

i hope they don't apply this to marijuana though
