i have tons of 'em. there's been many times in absolute desparation that i've considered consolidating my $2 bills a 50cent coins

dude, i've got a million man quarters from my brother that are easily 30 bucks, plus other random odd coins that add up to another 10 or so bucks. i've been so close to spending that...

I collected coins when I was younger and I still have a good collection thanks to the era, but at the height of my ambitions I wanted to aim for a full 100-year collection of every type of coin. I still have the pennies and probably nickles and dimes, but man, when I realized how much money was in those rolls of quarters and sheets of loonies, they were gone...

Yeah, same thing happened to me, I mean, I was poor, I had all this tied up money, oh well.

I actually have 50 uncirculated $2 bills in a safety deposit box somewhere (Canada switched from bills to coins sometime in the early nineties). I'm hoping I'll never be so hard up I need the extra $100 that bad, so maybe someday they'll appreciate in value, or I can give them to my illegitimate children or something.

i have a 25 cent bill and a 2 dollar bill from the 1920s (i think 1923) that i think are worth a little somethin'. they say "Dominion of Canada" on them and they're pretty old and ugly.

Yeah, after my grandfather passed in December, I was helping them go through some stuff, we found Civil War era currency and stuff, t'was amazing.

*edit*
And I had my camera whilst up there, but didn't think to get pictures, I'm sure my uncle will hold the stuff, along with the 1927 gold quarter eagle that my grandfather wanted me to have, but the rest of the family wants to fight over it, I'll get pictures eventually.

best quote

For Baltimore County police, said spokesman Bill Toohey, "It's a sign that we're all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world."

UGH

spending 2's, half dollars and dollar coins is hilariously fun because of the possibility of idiots trying to say they don't exist, etc.

last time i spent a $2 bill was about a year and a half ago at an FYE where the cashier happily took it and said "ooh! a two dollar bill."

I have a $100 birthday check due to be cashed from my grandmother... what do you guys think..?

unfortunately i can't really blow it on something from best buy - i'll probably just be using the money for food in normal stuff while i'm in chicago for a few days in may. but i'd love to do that.
