yea, the old stuff is on spike, but enterprise is ending soon. supposedly, johnathon frakes is supposed to guest star with sexiest man ever, John De Lancie in the last ep. the next incarnation is supposedly a federation agent sent back to this era. He'll prolly be emo and be raped by big burly men all the time... I mean they cant really get more creative than that...

the problem with star trek is that it's been non-stop shoved down the throats of tv watchers since...what, 87? and before that, the movies...

the next generation was really good. good writing, good characters, good stories. it went 7 years and deep space nine was a little rough at first but it eventually was good too. then voyager, aside from about 5-10 episodes, was a huge hunk of shit that went on for 7 years too long. we're looking at almost 15 years of continuous declining shows and being on UPN. Then right away, here's Enterprise. and jesus, does it suck. the movies have been getting worse and worse returns because star trek has become the butt of too many jokes. people think trekkies, not the show itself.

they would be wise to let the franchise sit for about 10 years and let people miss it. keep it alive with comics, books, and online stuff, but let the shows stop. i used to like star trek, but its been too much.

theres no real problem with premise of star trek, it relates a lot of good morals. Acceptance, tolerance, open-mindedness, trust, etc... it also has a lot (but not entirely) based in fact and theoretical physics. And my most loved aspect, its an optimistic view of the future. Gene roddenberry was a genius, star trek used to stand for acceptance, because in the 60s' working with black people, or russian people, or japanese people, (or vulcan people) was taboo, and star trek helped break those walls down. And I will foreve love it for doing so, and since those walls are down, theres not a lot of room left for breakthrough film. The films are a little complex, but they were made for the die hard fan, and for the most part, they're well made. (s'just a shame they never made a ds9 movie, fuckers)

its sort of... a mirror of battlestar galactica (nerd #1 right here), whereas BG sucked (the mysticism was the most drawing aspect for me) and rawks now, ST rawked and kinda sucks now.
Maybe they can breathe life into it, I hope so, I really like the premise of the universe and I'd hate to see it die off.

Fuck sisko, Picard could kick his ass any day of the week.

You all should be like me and have most of the entire series recorded on 8 hour Extended play VHS cassettes.

back to our trek talk, remember that episode of TNG when the whole crew turned into lower, more primitive lifeforms? man that was classic. Riker as a caveman and worf as that crab thing were hilarious.
