I love it. Tons of options, features, cars, tracks, and awesome graphics... just one of the many things you can do, is go into a photomode, take a picture, and save it to a usb thumbdrive hooked up to the ps2, and transfer it over. It prompted me to setup a photogallery.

My parents just surprised me with it last night.

I've only done like 5 races, but, once I get more time over the next 2 weeks. GT4 is about the only thing I'll be doing.

By the time I purchased a PS2 and GT3, I didn't have the time for gaming much, I never got further than..90 days in that game. Just a whole lot more to this one imo.

if it wasn't for your AIM sn, Donnie, i would almost completely forget about your fascination with the series, resulting in the legendary GT2000 nick you used on the old boards.

and yeah, GT4 looks amazing, but i doubt i will be doing any more than looking, simply because i can't afford the damn thing. but on the plus side, i purchased Castlevania SOTN for less than 10 bucks this weekend. sweet deal.

Legendary...lmao. Yeah, those were good times indeed. Hey, just for old-times sake..yeah.

I'll be taking my time with this game most likely so it doesn't get old, but, I'm quitting FFXI (most likely at least), so I'll need something to fill the void.

garr.. i wish i had the time and money for this, but i don't. i've been a huge GT fan since 2 came out. i still haven't played 3 a whole lot, it's a good game but they took out some of my favorite cars.

Yeah, there's a few things that aren't in there, which sucks, but I'm not gonna bitch about a few minor things, when the rest of the game is sweet.

One of my friends, as we've talked, has been hopelessly obsessed with the GT series since the first game... he's been having one long orgasm since March 22nd.

Oh man. I've finally had some free time to put into the game. It's so goddamn good.

I like how you have to be 25% done to start the endurance races, because in GT3, you could do an endurance race, get an F1 car, and then the rest of the game was quite easy.

I'm only 4.5% done, and it's very good so far.

Some day I want to sit down and finish up GT3. If I recall correctly, I was something like 70-80 percent done.

Gotta love B-Spec mode.

I'm up here posting while I'm winning another race.

B-Spec mode makes it very easy to win money. Win the Japan 5 race series in Japanese events. Win the $7,500 per win, and then the $35,000 for prize money. And then sell the car you win (since I've won it twice already, working on my 3rd now) and that's over $400,000 won in B-Spec mode.

Even better...

Take the Mercedes SL65, tune it some, and win the Mercedes Specific Race (first of 2 available), you win a Benz touring car.

Take the touring car, and go to European events, enter yourself in the Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft. By winning all 5 events, you make $150k including Champ. bonus, plus prize car sells for ~$743k. That's a nice chunk, plus the prize car, you'll want to keep one of the Benz CLK GTR for use elsewhere, the car famous for it's lift-off/backflip at Le Mans several years back.

Donny, with the Benz CLK GTR, what's your best quarter mile at the drag strip? I got mine down to 8.636 seconds. And on the max speed test, I got 183.10 MPH.

Not a bad machine.

Silly question: How do I change my name from "Zz" to something else in Gran Turismo mode?

I've mostly played arcade mode. Lotus Esprit and Mazda Protege reprazent.

GT2000
03-16-2005, 06:07 PM
Um, I don't think you can change your GT mode name after you've created it, at least, I haven't had to try finding out, beats me.

I'm about 27.5% complete, working on B-specing the 24hr enduros, 1 down, 1 failed, 2 more attempts should do it. Starting participation in a couple of leagues for fun, nothing too involving, just so the game doesn't get old fast.

I think I'm about 36 and a half % in right now, haven't played much lately, and I have to run a few laps with an HSC to submit for the weekly challenge still.

a friend from work is letting me borrow this since he won't be taking it to college with him. i really didn't expect much but i am more impressed than i was with GT4. one thing i do miss is the car history, unless it is present for some specific cars that i haven't seen yet.

i also really like that you can start off really fast, no more placing 4-6 multiple times to buy a carbon driveshaft. and the initial car selection... what a tough choice. ended up with a '98 Civic Type R 3-Door

This game has pretty much gone un-touched since that last post I made in this thread, I love the game, but, as with most games for me, I lose interest easily, sucks.

yeah understandable. gimme a week and then i'll probably be joining you. i've never completed a GT game. in fact, i've never even completed an endurance race...

GT2000
08-12-2005, 05:37 PM
Hmm, endurance races are a pain, I used to have the time for that stuff over summer break for the first couple GTs, but now they have those damn 24hr ones, B-spec all the way for that crap.

raublekick
08-12-2005, 07:18 PM
how is b-spec? i mean, i remember the older endurance races being so easy if you had a good car, because who the fuck wants to repeatedly fail those? but can you just set your controller down and b-spec your way through those races?

GT2000
08-12-2005, 07:43 PM
Yep, that's the whole point of B-spec...for shorter races you are trying to repeat for cash cars, just set it to 3x the event, can't remember the control to do it, but, it's simple...

However, for those multiple hour/many mile enduros where pitting is involved, the 3x speed resets to 1x for pitting, and then you have to manually set it back to 3x, just letting you know that, you'll be likely to have your ps2 on for like 24 hours straight if you b-spec those.

raublekick
08-27-2005, 09:44 PM
yeah understandable. gimme a week and then i'll probably be joining you. i've never completed a GT game. in fact, i've never even completed an endurance race...

ok, so take a week and subtract a few days... man i haven't played this in forever. blame it on the other game that I was in the middle of and the games that have come out since...

GT2000
08-28-2005, 02:49 AM
Lmao, that's a long stretch right there...4 days...wow, you haven't played that game in FOREVER!

I feel ya on that though, and here I am installing WoW, ugh... of course, even while drunk, I had enough sense to tell my friend that I wouldn't buy the game sober, so that we'd have to stop by Wal-Mart tonight after leaving the bar if I was going to buy it...
