ok, so optimus and i are tired of calling you (not really). it's time we meet and do something. i propose TESTFEST 2007. After 8 years talking to some of you, I think it's time to make a commitment. let's hang out.

optimus and i were thinking somewhere in PA, possibly Philly or our hometown, Lancaster. We are open to other suggestions too. I think a weekend at the end of May or June would be perfect, classes would be over for most people. We could get a hotel suite for a weekend and make our own Drunk Thread in real life. maybe we could even go see a show and hit some bars. we may even be able to help out with flight fares for those that are far away.

Yeah, I'm not quite that bad, however I definitely suffer from blackened smoker's lungs. I sprint when I run, no good at pacing, so after running I'd say a 1/8 - 1/4 mile, I'm all but laying on the ground clutching my chest.

Yea, see, the way I'm training, I run intervals. Like 4-6 minutes running, then a minute walking. It's the only way I can acheive the distance because I can only run like 3-4 miles without stopping (especially outside, as a lifelong treadmiller). I'm expected to complete 26.2 miles for the race, so I'm training a whole hell of a lot, running 5 days a week, and aching from it too.

also, we live in lancaster, not lanchester. pretty sure that's not anywhere near us. if you are looking for a decent way to get here on the cheap, you almost should take a flight, or drive to another airport, since detroit's airports seem pricey. Pittsburgh is like 4-5 hours away from you and costs 82 bucks to fly roundtrip to Philly for a weekend. and if we go to the beach or something instead, i'm sure that will be cheaper too.

yeah i typed lancaster when searching for prices, just mis-typed on here. i wouldnt want to take my car becuase its realy not reliable. i recently rented a car for 2 days for 600 bucks, but it was a suv and had to pay a "one way" fee. i think i could get a car for 4 days for about 600 if anyone one the way wanted to be picked up and we can split the price. if i can get brandon along with two peopel who need rides that thatd be 150 a person. excluding gas wich i would try to figure out.

well, as long as you can afford the days off, we can get you there. i mean, you live close enough to be picked up, and us tubers can help you out a little bit there.

we will need a good split on the rooms, financially, but if there are some people who can't pitch in, i would rather they come than not be welcome because they can't throw in X amount of money.

I know finally meeting the people I've known here since I was 12 years old will be a blast.

It will be an extremely awesome weekend. I'm very eager to finally speak face to face with you guys.

To whoever is making the reservations, you should tell the hotel that this is a big website that gets xxxx amount of hits per day, and we're looking for a place to hold our annual gathering. And in exchange for cheaper rates, we'll put up a banner ad or something.

It's a long shot, but, who knows.

Similar story: Back when I was in highschool, before iPods were what they are now, I bought this 20gb mp3 player (it was a total piece of shit). I e-mailed the company and said I run some music website and I get 500,000 hits per day, and in exchange for a discount, I'd put one of their banners on my page. I actually did run a website with a friend, but it got more like 5 hits a day. But at least we had a .com. Anyway. I set the hit counter on my page to something like 4,534,658, so it'd look like I got heavy traffic. And in exchange for the banner ad they gave me like, $150 off the mp3 player. I eventually got a phone call from them saying that they didn't see very much traffic coming from the banner. But they still sold it to me with the discount.

Moral of the story: I have no morals.

I hadn't really thought of this as a possibility and there's still not a lot of hope for me as I have to worry about my trip to New York in July, but if you guys keep me informed I'd definitely consider it.
